my Valentine...

Everyone been asking like how do i celebrate the B.I.G day...aka Valentine's day.

Actually, in a pretty simple way. Minus the hoo haa and extravaganza gifts that will left either one of us if not both broke and bread dependent for the next two months.

Don't get me wrong, which girl don't like chocolates and roses and candle lit dinner in a fancy restaurant/hotel?
I do.

But then again, to have all those on the very V-Day where all mentioned above has been hiked up 3-10 folds of the original price make me cringe in fear!

I kinda think it is a waste of good money. But if you have all the money in the world to splurge, by all means! But i wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth...too bad
hehehe!

Marketers super commercialized the day kao kao lor, agree?

I would definitely prefer to have chocolates and roses and candle lit dinner 3-10 times more instead. Even if it means on other days. I don't mind ;)

And it's recession time, people! I might not even be able to land a job once i graduate boohoo~

So on V-Day, we celebrated at The Mines, had a simple dinner there and lots of photos taken.

Simple indeed ;)

it's the company that matter the most :)

CNY outings

This year's CNY was kinda busy and everything was so packed. There's just so many things to do in such a short time!

Other than the regular relatives home visiting and ever many friends' home visiting (as usual) and again the tradition is to gamble in every houses we visited. Yeah i don't know why, but CNY is like totally associated with gambling and mahjongs and poker cards. This 'tradition' can last from morning til night, from day to day because everyone wants to "fatt choy" hehe...

i also slot in time to visit some temples and a trip down to Melaka! Hehehe yeah i know, you are probably there groaning, "like, again? how many times must she go to Melaka in a year?"

Hehe so don't know which CNY night, mommny, bro, Snoopy, Ruth and I went to Dong Zen Temple in Jenjarom. This temple is famous for it's huge space and special lightning and lanterns during Chinese New Year. Every year, people form as far as Penang will purposely come to visit this temple during CNY.

if i'm not wrong, this is the main hall for higher education on Buddhism

this year's theme was, "earnest cultivation yields fruitful harvests"

AND this is my main reason to go there;

Because i want to see this giant moo moo that is so cute!!!!

biggest moo moo ever!

Hehe sorry ya the moo moo is not lit up. When i reach there, it was a bit late, thus before long, they kinda switched off the light already. Well, i didn't expect them to switch off the light at 10:30pm lor.... to me that's like so freaking early still-.-"

me with ruthie

God knows what these three people were trying to do-.-"

On the 6th day of CNY, Ivy, Snoopy and I depart to Melaka! Main purpose was to visit Vincent's new house, and also to jalan-jalan lor...hehe we spend a night there at his parent's insistence ^.^v

Apart from the regular makan-makan session and visiting Jonker Street, we were pretty lucky that at Sungai Melaka, there's this lantern festival going on!

What a sight to behold!

and it's still going on you know!
do visit it if you're happen to be in town

3 musketeers with a cow carriage?! (kereta lembu)

suddenly Stadhuys clock tower seems so....small

us with a be-yoo-ti-fool dragon that could be seen from afar

miniature Menara Tamingsari at the background

Before we headed back home, we went to The Jetty there to have a look at the "karaoke on the water with seaviews". That place is called Arena something if i'm not mistaken...

You can see the Eye of Malaysia from here

and they have FOC buggy ride provided....dun pray-pray ar~~

And last week, we went to Thean Hou Gong Temple. I have never been to Thean Hou Gong Temple during CNY or at night before. It's well lit and jam packed with people.

one of the deco there; a revolving deco

see how packed it was with people/devotees?

at the top view, where there's less people

sheep of the year, mek~

moo moo of the year

a rare blue colour rat species you'll never find where else

And this is what mommy bought from there,

i dunno what it's called, but when the wind blows, the 'flower' petal-like' will spin happily...

it only cost RM6!

CNY

~HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR~

This year CNY is more or less like last year's. Except that it's notably more quiet as the excitement just wasn't felt permeated in the air.

There's lesser fireworks compared to last year,

There's even lesser lion dance troop to be seen around,

and,

there's also notably lesser 'red' decorative stuffs hung everywhere.

Today i went visiting with my friends, and of course, being the typical Chinese, we must gamble. Usually just cards but occasionally mahjong as well. Not that we gamble on mahjong of course because most of us can't play a decent mahjong game to save our lives. Except selected few which are experts that always have to teach newbies almost every time the mahjong set was brought out.

This is because there's always a student or two that wanted to learn. Every time.

Without fail.

Except me.

Because i just don't think i'll know how to play even if our sifu are darn patient with a noob like me or talk til their mouth forms white bubbles. Trust me, i just can't comprehend it.

One thing that makes this CNY different from last year's is due to my FYP.

My FYP deadline just have to be right after CNY, which makes i just have to WORK during CNY! Like, during CNY everyone were just so happy and i worrying about my FYP deadlines.

This is terrible man!

Worrying about FYP deadlines and wondering if my marks will be deducted if i hand in late which i know i will because i just can't finish everything in a matter of days! I mean, come on, my interview is on friday, and i'm supposed analyze every info AND discuss about the findings?

You think i'm a freak meh?

I have life too you know? My life does not solely revolve around FYP okay?

Oh man, i'm so doomed now.

My life is so not okay.

Yeah, HAPPY chinese new year.

can i be selfish and not think about fyp? can i enjoy my CNY to the fullest? can i?

Those were the days...

TODAY IS CHINESE NEW YEAR EVE!!!!

Today i woke up pretty early to wash my baby car...and darn i just realized that my baby car have quite a few war marks on its body...and my baby car is really not THAT old...Ouch! I guess a beauty treatment for my car soon is in order.

After that, i went to the market to run an errand for my mom. Guess what? i accidentally bumped into someone that i never expected to meet!

My itchy hand checking out some DVD's and suddenly the DVD peddler throw this question to me in chinese, "you were prefect right?"

I looked up, find that i can't recognise his face and asked him if he were from my secondary school i was a prefect in my secondary school days and i guess a pretty nasty one too

He said i used to caught him and his friends (i still don't know who are they) all the time. He asked if i recognize him?

Well to which i just shake my head because i really can't! I'm really bad at faces, you know... In fact, i don't even know which year he was from as he sidestepped the question by simply saying he was not the studious type.

Suddenly i had the urged to laugh out loud. Well, not to his face lar of course! Somehow, it makes me feel funny how i, a mere little me had made an impact in a person's life! AND how they still remembers me until now, which is like at least 5-6 years after.

I'll admit that i was a nasty prefect back then, one that most students hate. But then, should i regret what i did before? I don't think so. I did what i was supposed to do. Full stop.

And when this guy recognizes me, i can't help but wonder, to what extend does my existence carve an impact in his life? Because it seems that i have make an impact in his life, but my can't recall his face/name just seems to tell me that he did not make any strong impact in mine.

Now that i think of it, was he still angry with what i did (whatever that is) unto him before? Is revenge that makes him remembers me? I don't know. I guess i won't be able to find out about it.

I really don't think he will revenge on me or anything like that. Somehow, back then, i was so assured that no matter what action i took on those naughty students in my school, they would not revenge on me. I don't know why, but i just do. SOMEHOW. I knew that those students may be naughty will many disciplinary problems, but they are still humane.

I KNOW that because i have survived 5 years in that school, unscratched. And mind you, my secondary school was nowhere near any top schools in town. My school was easily one of the worst school in town history every year.

AaaaahhhH, what a memory...... *.*

All's well end's well

Chinese New Year is just around the corner and i believe majority of you are now happily back at your hometown (if any) and enjoying the holidays while waiting for ang pows Chinese New Year...

On thursday night, Snoopy and I went to watch this chinese comedy, "All's Well End's Well" (Ga Yao Hei Xi). Somehow, it was shown blardy late at night nationwide (10 minutes to midnite)

Official poster: All's well end's well

This show was practically a remake from the previous movie with the same title starring Stephen Chow. Probably the writers run out of new ideas for CNY movies-.-"

old version

The whole story basically revolves around an older sister (Sandra Ng) who is a spinster. Apparently there's a sacred rule that says "elder must marry first or else younger can't marry". Due to the fact that the older sister is "a piece of art" herself that's why she is a spinster duh! her younger brother (Ronald Cheng) hired a Dr. Love (Louis Koo) to help her sister so that he can get married himself eventually lar duh!

As Sandra Ng falls for Louis Koo (duh, like what else is new?), Louis Koo found the love of his life!
HOW NOW?????

This is where the twist and turn comes in and prepare yourself for a hearty laugh session.

look at all this wacky faces, how can you not laugh?

All in all, this is a joyful relaxing slapstick comedy meant to cheer you up. It doesn't requires any intellectual thinking so you can give your brain a much needed rest.

If you are familiar with Sandra Ng (Ng Kwan Yu) then you will have some idea how her character in the movie will be like. Depends to your liking, some might find it funny, some might find it gross, disgusting whatever.

I'll rate it 6/10 because it really cracked me up and i quite enjoy it. But then, i think the story line is really quite simple and mediocre. Nothing much to shout of.... apart from the fact that it's funny.

Well, at least this movie will make you laugh. And laughter is the best medicine, no?

Oklar since tomorrow i don't have any class then i guess i'll update some long overdue photos la.

It's my birthday celebration photos. Just a small gathering at here and there...

Yeah i know i should have posted up earlier but then i have yet to get the complete photos. I STILL don't. *cough photo facilitator Lewin cough cough* Here's just some of my own collection.

More of the photos will be upload in my FB....soon. You may check it out there...one of these day.

Enjoy~

my birthday cake

@ Starbucks

Poor my dear, always kena " cream facial". Kononnya can make the skin smoother hahahahaha. No, seriously, he was just unfortunate to be my scapegoat from all those pranks.

Leroy was especially fond of the "goatee"

my another cake, with family

The next day, we went to Taipan USJ for dinner. Went to Naili's (click) because of the ambiance. Naili's was also fondly known as "mamak on the tree". Would preferred to go to their main branch at Sentul, because then we really would have "sit on tree" instead of a tiny pondok. But then, Sentul IS a bit too far. . . . .

Why NKL seems abit emo? -.-"

group pix

After dinner, we went to Pyramid for a drink at Wong Kok. It wasn't an exceptionally pleasant experience because of the bar/bistro besides it that blast the music so bloody loud that i fear my eardrums would explode!

CNY decor @ pyramid

No photos at Wong Kok with me though and the giant milk tea drink because again, i have yet to receive the photos. Down!
